The Catholic Church, Saint. Augustine
of Hippo in St. Austell, commissioned us to
create an underwater scene for their baptismal font.
The theme for the font was fish - a strong Christian
symbol - and as the font was the step-in variety, the
design incorporated fish swimming down the steps into
the centre of the font.
Designing tiles for public areas is always a challenge,
but we found this commission especially so, as it was
an important centre piece to this parish.
Formats used in this commission:
152x152x6mm Special swimming
pool tiles with ribbed step treads.
Any size white or cream could be used if needed.
